The meaning of the game is to interactively observe the life of a pet, from hatching from an egg to death. In the first versions, you could only play as one pet, but in subsequent versions, many characters were added: sea series, swamp, forest, boy and girl, devil and angel.
It was possible to feed a pet, play with it, monitor its health, clean up after it, that is, an electronic toy practically replaced a real creature, hence such an attachment of children to an “electronic friend”.
There are fakes and analogues from other companies with three, four, five and seven control buttons, although Bandai is considered original - three-button control.
The original version of the game did not include the ability to start the game again, so the death of an electronic pet was experienced especially strongly. In Japan, there have been cases of suicide by teenagers who could not survive the death of a Tamagotchi. From that moment on, all released games necessarily had a game reset button, which could only be pressed with a pointed object.
Tamagotchi ID
In November 2009, Bandai released the Tamagotchi ID. The Tamagotchi ID featured a color LCD display and an infrared port for connecting to a mobile phone. This will make it possible to download games in Tamagotchi and purchase everything you need for your pet in online stores. In 2011, in honor of the 15th anniversary, the ID L version was released.
