Most items of equipment (except jewelry and belts) have slots for inlay stones. You can find out the number of slots by the number of lines in the item description. In this example, in the screenshot, the item has 2 slots for stones.

Stones come in different grades and are designed for different types of equipment - stones for gloves, shoes, etc. For which item the stone is suitable is indicated in its description. Stones can fall out of equipment when a character dies - the lower the grade of the stone, the greater this probability. Ascending grades are Uncommon, Rare, Unique, and Epic.

To insert a stone into an item, call the Black Spirit and select the inlay menu. Then select an item from the bag and a stone to insert. Only stones suitable for this item will be available for selection, so you can’t go wrong here.

Stones can be removed from an item by calling the same menu and right-clicking on them. The stone will then disappear. To save the stone when removing it, you need an item from the in-game store - Black Spirit Essence.

If you have the essence, then it is safe to extract the stone from the equipment with the help of a blacksmith. Approach the blacksmith, select the extraction menu, and then the extraction stone inlay menu. Place the save stone in the slot opposite the stone you want to save and click on the extract button on the right.

Stones for inlay can be obtained as loot from monsters, as a reward for some tasks and can be created using alchemy. In addition, any stone can be crushed through the material processing menu (L) and get , the amount depends on your Processing skill and the grade of the stone.

The basis of the combat system of the game are the skills of the character, thanks to which you can deal damage to hostile players and monsters. In addition, some of the hero's abilities allow you to get useful effects or even dodge enemy attacks. Consider the distinctive features of skills in Black game Desert.

• Learning Skills

To master any ability, you need a sufficient number of skill points. To get them, you need to destroy monsters or complete certain tasks.

• There are two ways to learn skills:

1. Independent. You can open the skills menu anywhere in the game world with
"K" key and select the ability you want to learn. For this you will spend 3 units

2. With the help of a trainer. In almost any large settlement, you can contact the NPC

It is worth considering that you can use some abilities only after you have previously applied other skills. Thus, a bunch of certain abilities form combos. Such skills cannot be dragged to the shortcut menu and are activated only using the keys. How to use ability bundles is indicated in their description.

Some tricks can be used while riding if you equip your horse with stirrups. Also, most of them have an additional effect, which is indicated in blue in the skill description.

It is recommended to plan in advance for the study of abilities. At the same time, you do not need to strive to learn them all, spending precious skill points on skills that you will not use in either PvP or PvE battles. For example, if you decide to turn your archer into an exclusively ranged fighter, then there is no need to spend money on pumping the melee skill tree. It would be more correct to accumulate skill points to learn new abilities, according to the chosen direction of development.

Skill Awakening

Black Desert has a special system that allows you to enhance the abilities of characters, giving them some additional effect. Upon reaching level 48, contact the Black Spirit to begin the first awakening. After that, at each level you will be able to awaken one of your abilities. The effects of awakening can be both instantaneous and acting for a period of time. For example, you can get HP regeneration when attacking or an increase in the amount of experience gained for a certain period. With this in mind, it is recommended to awaken frequently used skills in order to take full advantage of awakening.

However, sometimes it may happen that the effect obtained will not suit you, and you wish to change it to another. This will require the item “Skill Awakening Reset”. Black Spirit's Rage

Black Spirit's Rage is an automatic ability you gain at level 30. Using it, you will significantly increase the damage of some spells, which may require 100 or 200% charge to be cast.

The current level of the charge of anger can be found thanks to a special indicator, which is located to the right of the character's status bars. The accumulation of charges occurs during the battle: one charge for the destruction of the enemy and two - for taking damage.

Skills that can be powered by Black Spirit's Rage are empowered after reaching the required amount of Rage, and the accumulated charge is consumed. Otherwise, the skill deals standard damage. The maximum amount of anger that one player can accumulate is 100%, and therefore, to accumulate 200% of the charge, the help of other players is required. The charge can be transferred to another player in the same group as you using the 'X' button.

It should be borne in mind that when transferring 100% of the charge, the other player receives only 50%. Therefore, this function must be used twice to increase the charge from 100% to 200%.

Also, sometimes the charge can be absorbed by strengthening some skills. To absorb, press the 'Z' key.

Equipment Enhancement

After the Black Spirit acquires the second form (after completing the quest “Traces of Edan”), you will be able to enhance the equipment with the energy of black stones, due to which its basic characteristics will increase significantly.

With further strengthening, there is a chance of failure, and if this happens, the black stone will disappear, and the maximum durability of the item will decrease by 5 points. A bit of consolation for a failed buff is that you get an increased chance of success on your next buff (this bonus resets after a successful buff). After a series of unsuccessful buffs, it is recommended to restore the maximum durability of the item with the help of repair.

• Accurate amplification

After overcoming the guaranteed “barrier” of equipment enhancement, another way to improve it becomes available, which is called “Safe Enhancement”. The peculiarity here is that the item of equipment is strengthened with a 100% probability, however, this action consumes a significant amount of black stones, and also reduces the maximum durability of the item. The higher the amplification level, the more maximum durability the item will lose.

• Strengthening jewelry

The process of enhancing jewelry is different from enhancing other equipment. For this type of improvement, there is no need for black stones - another, completely similar decoration is used as a resource.
After strengthening the item, you can return all or part of the spent stones to use them again. To do this, contact the NPC. However, when extracting a point, the item itself, along with all the enhancements, disappears. It should be remembered that in the event of the death of your character, his equipment may lose one or more levels of enhancement.

Inlay

You will significantly strengthen your equipment if you inlay gems into it, adding new characteristics to it. This opportunity opens when the Black Spirit takes on its second form, after the quest "Traces of Edan".

• Inlay process

Inlaid stones will not cause you any difficulties. It is enough to find equipment that has the required number of empty slots, and a suitable stone (the type of equipment into which it can be inserted depends on the type of stone). After that, summon the Black Spirit (by default, the “/” key) and click on the “Inlay” button.

Choose equipment with a free slot for inlay and a suitable crystal. A confirmation window will appear in which you must confirm that you wish to insert the stone into the equipment. After that, the crystal will immediately take its slot.

To remove a gem from the equipment, you need to place it in the inlay field and right-click on it. In this case, the crystal will be destroyed, but you can save it by using the appropriate service from the nearest blacksmith.

Important: Do not forget that the crystal can be destroyed upon death.

Buff Transfer

In the Black Desert game, with the help of a blacksmith, you can partially or completely restore the resources spent on improving equipment. This can be used to transfer the buff to more powerful equipment.

• Extraction of black stones

Black Stones are one of the most valuable resources in Black Desert and are needed to upgrade equipment. However, it may happen that you need to get them back in order to strengthen another item. To do this, contact the blacksmith, click the "Extract" button and select the "Black Stone" item. The extraction of black stones has a number of features:
- all stones spent on improvement are subject to return if the level of enhancement is less or
equal to safe (+7 for weapons and +5 for armor);
- if the item is improved above a safe level, then you get only a part of the stones,
spent on amplification;
- the object from which the black stones are extracted is destroyed.

• Extraction of inlaid stones

When extracting stones with the help of the Black Spirit, the stone is destroyed. To prevent this from happening, you can purchase the item “Essence of the Black Spirit” in the Premium Shop and use the help of a blacksmith.

Turning to the blacksmith, click the "Extraction" button and select the "Inlay" item. Insert the item from which you want to extract the stone, and the essence of the black spirit (to do this, right-click on their icons in the inventory). Then click the “Extract” button so that the item of equipment and the extracted stone are with you.

PvP

A dispute that cannot be resolved by negotiation can always be resolved by battle! The reason for the battle does not matter: the capture of the castle during the siege, the conduct of guild wars, the battle in the arena for honor and glory, or simply the need to teach some player a lesson - only victory is important.
Upon reaching level 30, you will be able to activate the PvP mode, which will allow you to attack other players. The only exception is the conduct of guild wars, in which all players participate, regardless of level.

• PvP Mode Activation

To be able to attack players, press the keyboard shortcut ‘Alt + C’ or click on the special icon located near the bottom of the screen. The icon will change its appearance, allowing you to determine if you have PvP enabled. Also, during the activation / deactivation of the mode, you will see a corresponding notification.

• Penalties in PvP

If you kill another player in the open world without PvP enabled, he will lose experience, as well as, with a low degree of probability, inlay stones. With a negative karma value, you are assigned the “PK” status, which makes you a desirable target for other players, because in case of death you will incur additional losses, which are described in the corresponding guide.

Attention: there are certain zones in Black Desert (for example, arenas) in which there are no penalties and no negative karma is charged for killing other players.

Death Penalties

The game world is full of dangers coming not only from monsters, but also from other heroes you meet along the way of adventure. Sometimes, if circumstances are stronger than you, then such collisions can end in death, which is fraught with certain penalties: loss of experience, destruction of inlay stones, a decrease in the level of equipment enhancement, and much more.

It is worth remembering that most penalties are relevant only for the free world, and therefore in areas where death from other players is inevitable (for example, arenas or a siege zone), penalties for death do not apply.

• Place of resurrection

After death, you will be asked to choose a respawn location. If you don't do this within one minute, you will automatically respawn in the nearest city. In total, there are several options for resurrection:

Immediate resurrection at the place of death with 20% HP. To use, you need a special item - “Tears of Elion”. It is worth considering that when using this option in dueling arenas, tears are not needed. In addition, this resurrection option cannot be used in siege zones.

Nearest city
Allows you to move to the nearest city you have visited. Keep in mind that players with negative karma do not respawn directly in the city. Instead, they appear close to him.

Arena- a place where players gather to fully enjoy the PvP component of the game, without fear of penalties in the form of loss of experience, durability reduction and item enhancement levels. You can find an arena under the walls of almost any major city. To start the battle, it is enough to agree with your opponent, and then go with him into the fenced area. Karma accrual

Karma is one of the main characteristics of your character, which shows your attitude towards the inhabitants of the Black Desert world. Your reputation will be tarnished if you kill peaceful heroes (not having activated PvP mode), wild and tamed horses, and also if you get caught stealing.

The player who attacked another player will receive a special status (flag), which indicates his readiness for battle. At the same time, his character model will be painted red, and a special symbol in the form of crossed swords will appear next to his name.

Killing peaceful characters takes 60,000 karma points, but keep in mind that this rule does not affect self-defense, allowing you to fight back the offender even without turning on the PvP mode. The maximum value of karma is 300,000 points, which is accumulated by destroying monsters.

To strengthen the equipment, it is enough to put the necessary item in the inventory, call the spirit (the “/” key), click on “Enhancement” (sword icon), find the desired item and a black stone (different types of stones are needed to strengthen armor and weapons), after which press the "Enhance" button.

In order to encrust stones, you must use the green button, which depicts a glowing stone.

Strengthening skills

As you level up, the abilities of the Black Spirit will expand and thereby increase your combat capability. After level 48 and each new level, you will be able to improve one of the available skills, giving it a random effect - both positive and negative. If the new property does not suit you, then it can be removed with the help of relics knocked out from draft bosses, or with a special item from the game store for 60 pearls.

Effects can enhance a character's combat capability:
