The Moscow Printing Factory of Goznak is one of the largest enterprises of the Goznak Association

Currently, the Goznak Moscow Printing Factory, which is part of the Goznak Association, has License No. 5 07-1-05 / 5064 dated 08.08.2006. the right to manufacture security printed products of level A, B, C. All products are manufactured in full compliance with the Technical Requirements of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. In connection with the issue of orders of national importance, the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation granted Goznak the exclusive right to use intaglio and Oryol printing methods in the manufacture of printed products, which ensure the greatest protection of products from fakes.

The rapid development in the world of printing equipment for printing banknotes, new types of protection against counterfeiting of banknotes, required Goznak to take measures to upgrade its equipment to more efficient and modern ones. Starting from the 1970s, new equipment for offset and intaglio printing began to be installed and put into production at the factory. The installation of new equipment required a radical change in the entire technological process of making banknotes.

Such areas of production as type-casting and stereotypical sections in the mold shop were liquidated. The technology of intaglio printing has undergone a fundamental change. Remained in the past are such labor-intensive and heavy production processes as the lobe of each sheet of the product before printing, drying in special ovens after printing, pressing.

The use of new equipment at the Goznak association put it on a par with international enterprises producing banknotes, both for their own country and for other countries. It should be noted that the 80-90 years of the last century were years of rapid development and improvement of the entire system.

The introduction of new equipment and technology made it possible to drastically reduce the process of preparing and launching new products into production, to increase labor productivity by several times when printing basic products, and to significantly reduce the number of people employed in their production.

The launch of new equipment and the introduction of new technology during this period would not have been possible without those who mastered this technique. A large group of printers was trained to work on new printing machines by one of the most experienced intaglio printers, N.G. Saltykov. Neklyudov A.V., one of the oldest heads of the shop, paid much attention at the initial stages of mastering the new technology. and his deputy Larin I.N.

GOZNAK is the successor of the oldest and unique enterprise "Expedition for Procurement of State Papers". In 2008, he turned 190 years old. The use of electroforming, intaglio printing, Oryol printing was a real achievement of the Expedition. GOZNAK carefully preserves the experience and traditions of the old masters.

The Goznak Moscow Printing Factory occupies a special place in the history of banknote production in Russia. It was the main, that is, the basic enterprise, with the help of which the entire system of printing production in Russia was created after the printing of banknotes in Petrograd was stopped. If in the first months and years after the revolution, partial production of banknotes was carried out in Penza and in the Urals in the city of Perm, then in 1919 the last main divisions of the expedition for the preparation of state papers were evacuated from Petrograd to Moscow - the printing and form-art department.

In July 1919, the People's Commissariat for Finance of the RSFSR approved the Regulations on the Management of Factories for the Procurement of State Papers (Goznak). The management was located in Moscow and united the Moscow, Petrograd and Penza factories for the preparation of state papers.

On December 8, 1920, the Decree of the Council of Labor and Defense was adopted: “All factories for the preparation of state signs (first and second) Moscow factories, mechanical workshops of Goznak in Moscow, the Petrograd, Penza and Ural factories in Perm and the Goznak factory management are attributed to the group of shock enterprises and recognized state-military enterprise ... "

This Decree greatly contributed to the preparation of the monetary reform. The first stage of the reform was marked by the issuance of Goznak State banknotes of the 1922 model. During this period, the Government decided to concentrate the production of banknotes in two places: in Moscow, transferring all printing production from other cities, and in Petrograd, leaving a paper factory there. In 1924, the monetary reform was completed by stabilizing the exchange rate of the Soviet ruble.

The technological process of making banknotes is a very diverse and laborious process, which involves a wide variety of areas of science and technology. Artists and engravers, photographers and retouchers, stereotypers and electroplaters, typesetters and numbering machine makers, painters and laundresses, laboratory workers who control technological processes at all stages of production - this is only a part of those specialists who prepare the product so that it gets into the form printing form to the workshop on the printing press. The MPF Goznak did a great job in preparing and providing the necessary number of products for the reform of 1937-1938. During this period, in addition to the existing buildings of the former Brocard factory, a new production building was built on the territory of the factory, which made it possible to organize many new production sites. During that period, the factory developed and improved its production. By 1941, it was the largest printing company in the country.

The war period was a new serious test for the team. In the first months of the war, despite the existing reservations, many Goznak employees volunteered for the front. The other part was evacuated to the cities of Krasnokamsk and Tashkent.

In 1942, production was again organized at the factory. One of the most important events of the war and post-war period was the preparation for the provision of new banknotes of the 1947 model. The main work on the creation of original samples was carried out at the Moscow Printing Factory, and then the Krasnokamsk Factory and the Moscow Printing House of Goznak took part in the printing of banknotes.

At all times of its activity in the team, the main attention was paid to the training and education of personnel. The system of individual training was widely used. Masters such as Cheblokov, Saltykov, Yakovlev, Pomansky and many others brought up a large number of printers, engravers, artists.

In 1944, a trade school was opened on the basis of the Moscow Printing Factory, which was then transformed into the Goznak Special Technical School. Many specialists passed through this educational institution, some of whom work at Goznak today.

The special technical school prepared specialists not only for Moscow, but also for the Krasnokamsk and Perm printing factories. In the difficult, post-war 1946, the factory organized its own pioneer camp in a picturesque corner of the Moscow region, which has been operating for over 50 years. The preservation of personnel, the creation of the most favorable conditions for the team, has always been the primary concern of the factory. The factory had its own club, canteen, medical unit, rest house, kindergartens - all this made it possible to have a stable highly qualified team.

By creating such conditions, the guarantee of reliability in this team was pursued, both in its efficiency and in ensuring the secrecy of the work carried out at the enterprise. The staff of the factory during its existence has always been distinguished by the fact that in its composition in all years people have worked, transferring their rich production experience to their families.

It is difficult to enumerate the names of those who have worked and are working at Goznak in whole dynasties, among them: Vasilievs, Galkins, Chekmarevs, Andreevs.

The unique experience of working with securities, the use of advanced technologies and the most modern equipment of well-known foreign companies in the production allow us to offer customers products with a guaranteed a high degree security: banknotes; securities (shares, bonds, certificates, promissory notes); book production - passports, certificates, passes, diplomas; congratulations, contractual and address folders; stamps - postal, tax, duty, excise, etc.

The rich experience of talented artists will help create a unique design in the manufacture of such products. It is also possible to produce booklets, color wall calendars and posters according to the customer's plots.

The products of the Goznak Moscow Printing Factory are always produced at a high printing and artistic level and meet all modern requirements for quality and security.

Story

1919: Renaming to Goznak

After the October Revolution, the EZGB was transformed into the Office of State Paper Procurement Factories, abbreviated as Goznak. The reform was carried out on the basis of the "Regulations on the management of factories for the preparation of Soviet state signs", which was approved by the People's Commissariat for Finance of the RSFSR on June 6, 1919.

In 1919, the Goznak board was transferred to Moscow. The Moscow, Petrograd, Penza, and then Perm and Rostov factories were subordinate to him.

In later Soviet times, the full name of Goznak sounded like the Main Directorate for the Production of State Badges, Coins and Orders, which was subordinate to the USSR Ministry of Finance. Goznak united paper and printing factories, mints.

Postage signs

The signs of postage printed at the enterprises of Goznak were trained in DIEZPO. At the same time, the printing enterprises of Goznak printed not only all Soviet postal signs, but also fulfilled orders for a number of foreign countries. The Moscow Printing Factory of Goznak (MPFG) was responsible for issuing postage stamps; On an experimental basis, several series of stamps (TsFA (ITC "Marka") # 3815-3819, 4536-4540 and some others) were printed at the Moscow Printing House of Goznak (MTG). Whole things, including single-sided postcards with original stamps, were printed at MTG, MPFG, as well as at the Perm Printing Factory of Goznak.

Forms of documents

The enterprises of Goznak printed forms of Soviet documents. Among them, forms of documents on the formation of a single state sample (matriculation certificates, diplomas, etc.) were made using a special color rendering technology to exclude fakes. They looked like a single typographically made, double-folding form in a thick cardboard cover. All forms were documents of special storage and issuance, they had an individual number.

1818: Foundation of the Expedition for the preparation of state securities under the Ministry of Finance

The enterprise was founded by the decision of the State Council of Russia at the end of the summer of 1818 in St. Petersburg as the Expedition for the Procurement of State Papers (ESGB) under the Ministry of Finance. Augustine Betancourt (1758-1824) took an active part in the construction and work of the EZGB in the early years.

Banknote paper (Museum of Goznak)

Goznak is currently the only manufacturer of banknotes and coins in Russia, as well as state awards, medals, orders, badges, postage stamps, postcards, forms for official documents, etc. It includes: Moscow and St. Petersburg mints; factories factories in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm and Krasnokamsk; Moscow Printing House and Research Institute of Goznak.

The management of Goznak organizes production at controlled enterprises, and orders for all coins and banknotes are carried out by the Bank of Russia, which has no direct control from the state. In addition, orders for the release of other products can be carried out at the state level, or from individuals.

Officially, the enterprise is considered a joint-stock company, but all shares are owned by the Federal Agency for State Property Management, that is, in fact, it can be called state-owned. However, absolutely all products with the Goznak logo should not be mistaken for state issues. Among the coins in gift wrapping and sets that have recently appeared in great abundance, only those should be considered official, the order for which was completed by the Bank of Russia. The rest are nothing more than official Goznak souvenirs.

Story

On August 21, 1818, by decree of Alexander I, an Expedition for the Procurement of State Papers was created in St. Petersburg to replace old banknotes with new ones. Her responsibilities include making paper, designing banknotes, stamps, and producing paper money. Later, stamps, bonds, documents, etc. are printed. The equipment was adjusted by an engineer of Italian origin A. Betancourt, who became the first head of the enterprise. The building on the banks of the Fontanka River is still used for its intended purpose. The mints were then controlled by the Ministry of Finance and did not belong to the Expedition. By the beginning of the 20th century, the enterprise already included Moscow, Petrograd, Penza and Rostov printing factories.

In 1919, in connection with the preparation of the issue of the first Soviet money, the company moved to Moscow, and the name was changed to Goznak. In 1942, in the buildings of Goznak in Moscow, a Moscow Mint, from that time on, Goznak became responsible for the production of coins, joined by Leningrad Mint. That is, the enterprise becomes the sole producer of all money, bonds, forms of documents, stamps, badges, awards, etc.

In 2005, Goznak became a federal state unitary enterprise, and since 2008 it has been classified as a strategic enterprise. On June 5, 2014, by presidential decree, it was transformed into a joint-stock company, but all excises belong to the Federal Agency.

Modern production

Material for banknote paper (Museum of Goznak)

Currently, Goznak prints passports, notarial and other forms (there is a note about this in small print), banknotes, coins, stamps, as well as various related products for state and private orders. Money is being made for many other countries. For example, in 2014, 3,400 tons of paper and more than a billion banknotes were exported. Recently, they began to produce electronic cards for phones. The issue of postal envelopes and postcards has been discontinued.

The Research Institute of Goznak is constantly developing new means of protecting money and documents from counterfeiting, and modernizing printing technologies. Issued annually trial banknotes without denomination, which have a colorful design and demonstrate new means of protection. Such samples come to various exhibitions, where they periodically become winners.
