How to make a treasure hunt map. Do-it-yourself old pirate map

Antipyretics for children are prescribed by a pediatrician. But there are emergency situations for fever when the child needs to be given medicine immediately. Then the parents take responsibility and use antipyretic drugs. What is allowed to give to infants? How can you bring down the temperature in older children? What medicines are the safest?

Part 2

Selection of suitable landmarks on the ground and mapping

    Choose a place to search for treasure. You can organize a treasure hunt from the basement of your private house to its main floor, or use the bushes and trees in your garden as landmarks marked on the map. Treasure hunting can be done both at home and on the street, depending on the space you need and the current season.

    • It is better not to hide the treasure in public places, since you cannot be completely sure that someone else will not find it.
  1. Complete four or five home landmarks with appropriate four or five pirate pictures. If you decide to arrange a treasure hunt at home, you can use a sofa, a lamp, a microwave, a refrigerator as landmarks and select the appropriate pictures for them. For outdoor treasure hunting, you can make a large tree, a trampoline, a swing, a rose bush and a large stone as landmarks. Then you will need to think about how to creatively label these items on the map. For example, a bathtub can be made a “Waterfall of Destiny”, and a large outdoor stone can be made a “Skull Island”. Below are other fun examples:

  2. Draw a large island on the map, leaving some free space around the edges. Create an undulating coastline with several prominent ridges. Use a blue marker or pencil to paint over the area around the island to represent the ocean.

    • You can also always create a few additional mini-islands to represent different rooms or areas of the house. For example, you can make one island for home treasure hunting and one island for outdoor treasure hunting.
  3. Draw a compass in the corner of the map. You may not be using a compass to give direction, but showing it on your map will make it look more realistic. The image can be quite simple, for example, a cross with the cardinal directions (“N”, “S”, “W” and “E”) or you can draw a full-fledged wind rose with a compass.

    • If possible, correctly orient the compass on the map to the cardinal points so that children can use this device while searching for hidden treasures! Most smartphones now have a built-in compass so you can check directions to certain landmarks.
  4. Put landmarks on the map and label them. Grab your markers or pencils and let your creativity run wild! In addition to the previously selected landmarks, images of palm trees, parrots, coves and sand can be added to the map. Depending on the age of the children who will be hunting for treasure, you can sign the landmarks with their veiled pirate names and indicate clues that will help you find the appropriate place in your house, for example, for the “Waterfall of Doom” sign below in small letters that it is “there, where people swim.

    • You can also take interesting ideas from pirate movies and incorporate fun details from there into your map.

Hidden treasures, a world of adventures, pirate maps with a mark on the place where you need to look for treasure - all this captures children so much. You can make a real treasure map with your own hands. It remains only to hide the treasure according to the displayed landmarks and arrange a fun adventure for your children in search of pirate treasures. So I did on the last birthday of twin boys. It was fun to watch them solve riddles and look for treasures.

Aged paper

To make the card, I bought a large piece of dark parchment paper. The map does not have to be large, it all depends on the age of the children, the older they are, the more difficult it is to depict the route. You can replace parchment paper with any thick packing or cut brown paper grocery bag.

I advise you not to cut off an even piece of parchment, but on the contrary - crookedly cut edges make it more realistic.

How to age a sheet:

Giving color

To give the paper the color of antiquity, you must perform the following steps:

treasure hunt place

When the paper is ready, the next step is to figure out where to hide the treasures.

We have a private house, so the search area is large. Treasure searches can be conducted not only indoors, but also start from the basement, gradually moving to the rooms. Trees and bushes growing in the yard can be used as landmarks. It is better not to hide the treasure in a public place, because you cannot be completely sure that someone else will not find it.

If the search takes place at home, large objects (a sofa, a refrigerator, a microwave oven) are used as landmarks, and appropriate images are selected for them. For searches arranged in the yard, the playground, tree, flower bed, etc. serve as landmarks.

Drawing on the map

Below is a list of funny examples for you:

  • a pile of laundry - a "mountain of monsters";
  • bushes - "wild jungle";
  • corridor - "secret path";
  • balcony - "a window to another world."

You can depict a large island on a pirate map by drawing a wavy coastline with several ledges. With the help of a blue pencil or felt-tip pen, the area around the land is painted over, thus indicating the ocean. You can mark other island states (rooms) by drawing a few more mini-islands.

Compass

You don't have to use a compass to give direction, but putting it in a corner of the map will make it look more realistic. The image can be very simple, for example, we drew arrows with captions for cardinal points. If you can draw beautifully, then you can draw a full-fledged compass.

If a treasure map is being made for older children, you can draw a compass that really shows the direction of the search, the treasure, and hand over the device by which the "hunters" will search for the treasure.

Landmarks are mapped and signed. Here you can give free rein to your fantasies and, in addition to the chosen landmarks, draw images of palm trees, sunken ships, outlandish animals. Depending on the age of the guys who will be looking for treasures, landmarks can be signed, for example, under the “waterfall of fate”, write that this is a place where people swim.

With a red marker, we drew a dotted line that seekers must follow in order to find the treasure. To make the trail look more realistic, you can draw a winding line in some places. If there is no red felt-tip pen at hand, the path can be highlighted in a different color, as long as it is clearly visible.

The discovery of the treasured treasure is the brightest moment of the search. At the final point of the path, we put a big red cross and drew a treasure chest.

Preparing the Treasure and Starting the Search

To prepare for the adventure, items of loot or further clues are hidden at each landmark. For example, if the map shows a "mountain of monsters", you can leave a bag of sweets at its base. So the children will understand that they are on the right track. If you want to make the map as simple as possible without hints, you can write them on small pieces of paper and give them out to the guys at each section of the path they have overcome.

The main pirate treasures are hidden in the place marked with a cross on the map. We used a toy chest (you can take a simple shoebox, paste it over the type of chest and fill it with sweets or small toys of the appropriate theme).

Reward

You can buy chocolate coins in stores that resemble pirate doubloons, eye patches, cute parrot key rings or small ships.

If one of the children suffers from a food allergy, say, to chocolate or nuts, it is worth replacing the treasures with other types of sweets, for example, marshmallows or hard candies. If a pirate party is not planned soon, you can make a treasure chest yourself.

During the entertainment arranged for young children, adults will need to help in finding and guiding the little ones. Some images require additional explanation. For example, you can explain to the guys that a parrot next to a dotted line indicates that it is worth looking for a place in the house where there is a picture of a bird.

The main goal of the game is to give pleasure to children, to amuse and captivate the process, if the search for treasures is too complicated, they will quickly lose interest or, even worse, they will be upset that nothing comes out of them. Therefore, it is good if parents participate in the search, guide and suggest. The game will turn out to be especially interesting if an adult dresses up as a pirate, includes riddles and expressions characteristic of the conquerors of the seas in his speech.

If a pirate party is planned for school-age children or a large company, the children can be divided into groups and the map broken into the appropriate number of teams. The task of each of them is to find the lost part of the map and put it together, and then start searching for the treasure.

You can create the appropriate mood if you ask guests to dress up as pirates, sailors and mermaids.

If the search takes place not only at home, but also on the street, then it is worth using several adults to look after the children.

We draw a treasure map for children - materials, tools and instructions. Children's games are varied and often interesting even for adults. For a complete mental and physical development It is good for a child to combine intellectual tasks with mobility in games.

Such a game can be a “treasure hunt” - a real quest that will become an exciting adventure for children, and it is easy to implement it both within an apartment and in the courtyard of a country house. The only thing parents need to do is hide the “treasure” and draw a treasure map for children.

Treasure map templates. Print and draw your own map according to your area or apartment:

Preparation of materials

To make a treasure map you will need:

  • A sheet of paper (it is advisable to choose a thick one, like whatman paper);
  • Colored pencils and a simple pencil;
  • Eraser;
  • Stencils;
  • Tea and dishes;
  • Candle and matches;
  • Scissors;
  • Twine.

Paper preparation

Card paper needs to be aged:

  • To process paper, you will need to brew strong black tea;
  • It is necessary to pour it into a dish where you can put a sheet of paper of the desired size without crushing (for example, a baking sheet);
  • The paper can be left in the bowl for a few minutes so that it is well saturated with tea;
  • After removing the sheet, it must be laid on a flat surface to dry.

The paper prepared in this way will be slightly warped (wrinkled) and will acquire an uneven brownish tint.

Now you can cut the edges of the paper (so that the outline is uneven) and, using a candle, carefully singe the edges of the card.

Draw a treasure map

When the paper is completely ready, you can proceed directly to drawing:

  • A sketch is drawn on a separate piece of paper, after having thought through where the rocks, islands, groves, ships will be;
  • It is not at all necessary that the map exactly repeats all the objects that are found on the ground (in an apartment or on the street), because the "pirates" hid the treasure for a long time and since then the "landscape" could change significantly;
  • If the surrounding area is too simple (or there is not enough space in the room), then in the place designated as a treasure, you can only hide a hint that will direct the children on a further trail (you can put hints into caches more than once);
  • By changing the location of the treasure and hints with different directions, the map can be used an infinite number of times;
  • It is better to draw the contours of objects on paper with a simple pencil, using stencils if necessary;
  • You can make the map monochromatic - so it will look naturalistic. Such a card will appeal to school-age children;
  • You can color the map with colored pencils - so it will be brighter and more attractive;
  • The finished card must be twisted into a tube and tied with twine.

Treasure hunting is good for two or three children, as well as for a group of kids at a children's party. Anything can be in the role of treasure: toys, sweets, etc. It is important that there are enough gifts for all participants in the search.

The scenario of the holiday was still spinning in my head, and I had already sent out letters from Old Flint to the future participants with the following content:

“Pirate Old Flint is gathering a team to search for treasure.

The pirate ship "Barracuda" will be moored in there at 10 am! (in case of bad, rainy weather, it will not be able to go to sea and the gathering of pirates is postponed to next week).
The first task for the pirate is to come up with a real pirate name for himself and arrive at the meeting point at the specified time in a pirate costume.

Show Old Flint the black mark."

I wrote the letter by hand, drew a pirate flag, photocopied it in the required amount, and put it in envelopes along with black marks. Black marks can be cut out of cardboard, but I made them from plasticine. The children were intrigued, counted the days until the event and took the preparation very seriously!

When preparing a quest, the script always relies on the venue of the holiday and the age of the participants. In our case, these were children 3-5 years old, most of the tasks were hidden at home and in the surrounding area.

Quest preparation:

1. Encrypted message.

2. The key to the cipher- a note with cipher pictures and letters.

3. Colorful butterflies- 14 pieces. Butterflies of seven colors, letters are written on the reverse side. Collected in pairs, butterflies with letters add up to the name of seven notes. The task implies that the children sort the butterflies by color, see the letters and add the words-notes: Do, Re, Mi, Fa, etc.

4. Treasure map. I tightly sealed the drawn card in cellophane, sparing no adhesive tape for tightness, and placed it in a plastic box, which I filled with water and froze. To make the map sink, I pressed it to the bottom with a few pebbles. When the water froze, it turned out beautifully, you could add shells, it would be even better!

5. Pirate Flag, Drawn by hand with black chalk on a sheet of A3 paper. Taped to the gate with adhesive tape (we called this place the Island of Shadows), under the flag - an envelope with a new task.

6. The inscription "Barracuda" to designate a ship. Actually, the house itself was a pirate ship, the room was a cabin, the kitchen was a galley, etc.

7. Envelopes with riddles and tasks.

8. Buy Balloons(about 10 pieces), crackers and a rubber spider. As treasures - kinder surprise eggs. With crackers, Flint provoked young pirates during the game, raised morale :). And I put a few notes with riddles into the balls. Inflated balloons were tied higher, so that the children themselves could not reach them.

9. Find Pirate Songs(The song of the pirates from the movie Pappy Longstocking and the theme from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean).

10. Prepare riddles about the sea,(see Attachment).

For the whole adventure, we only needed one character - Pirate Flint, who played the role of host.

Celebration:

When all the children gathered, Flint announced that the team was starting to search for treasure.

For the ship to set sail you need to raise the sails.(On the veranda we have roller blinds, they symbolized the sails.) Having untwisted the curtains, the kids found encrypted message and the chief pirate explained: to read the cipher, you need "key", he is with his girlfriend huge spider, who is hiding somewhere in the garden.

The children went to roam the garden and soon the spider was found. Under it was envelope with a key to solve the cipher.

For the age of our team, the message was too long, and they had to show a fair amount of patience and continue to name the letters, matching them with the pictures. With the help of parents read: "Listen to the rustle of butterflies inside a white jellyfish."

What in our house looked like a huge white jellyfish? The children looked around in bewilderment until someone guessed that it was a stole (mosquito net) hanging from the ceiling. I pre-tied it in the middle and put paper butterflies there. The children rushed to the jellyfish, untied it and all the butterflies scattered across the bed.

jellyfish found!

Flint suggested that need to pair and guess what these short words mean. When the children realized that these were notes, they were offered to find the next task where the notes are hidden - in a musical instrument. In our case, it was the harmonium. The children lifted the lid and found an envelope with the next task:"Pirates are very cheerful people, dance a pirate dance together, cheerfully!"

I turned on the song, and everyone danced, jumped.

When the kids calmed down, Flint suggested choose from the team members the chief mate in the following way:"Who knows more than all the fish and marine life, he will be the captain's assistant." Everyone sat in a circle and took turns calling the fish, who could no longer remember anything - dropped out. So the one who had the honorable task to go to the galley and bring a tray with watermelon for the whole team was determined.

While the pirates and their parents were refreshing themselves with watermelon and sandwiches, I turned on a song from “Pirates of the Caribbean” for the background, we imagined how we were sailing on a ship, the sails were inflated, the waves were beating against the side, the sun was above the clouds, etc.

When the pirates and their parents completed this delicious task, it turned out that on the back of the tray, at the bottom, an envelope is glued! The assignment said:“With the help of the Thousand Devils spell, turn into a monster with eight legs, two mouths and two eyes. Only such a monster can break the enchanted balls, inside there is a new task!

Children took turns climbing onto the shoulders of an adult and blindfolded cut off high-hanging balls. So everyone was in the role of a monster, and everyone had a balloon in their hands.

Further I had to break them to read the notes hidden inside. It turned out to be fun, they just flopped their ass on the grass and then collected scattered pieces of paper. On small papers riddles about the sea (see Attachment), and the next task: “Go to the Isle of Shadows, where a pirate flag hangs. The island is enchanted, to get to it, build a bridge of shadows.

The task implied that the children in a chain stand on a concrete path and chalk around the shadows each other, moving towards the island.

Having reached the gate in this way, our pirates tore off the flag and found a new envelope with a note:"Look for a map in the land of eternal ice." The kids guessed that we had a refrigerator and found a frozen map. But how do you get it from there? they carried it into the sun, picking it with forks, all to no avail!

Flint came to the rescue, he brought a bowl of hot water and poured it into the box, then the ice floe melted and fell out of the box. It was smashed against the concrete of the path and a pirate map was taken out!

The map determined where the treasures are hidden- in the country of Melatia (on the territory of the nearest pool), it didn’t take long to persuade anyone - the kids happily went to the pool, where they found their well-deserved treasures under a tree, bathed, freshened up and went home, filled with impressions and positive emotions.

What without a treasure map? To make this exciting holiday memorable, make a treasure map with your child - it's not at all difficult!

We need:

  • A4 sheet of paper
  • Strong tea brew (you can use strong coffee)
  • Pencils, markers

Step 1

Take a sheet of paper. The size does not play a big role - at your discretion. Trim the edges of the sheet to give the map a more "worn" look.

Step 2

Make a tight ball out of paper, in which case you will get more realistic folds.

Step 3

Brew several tea bags into a shallow dish. Place a sheet of paper so that the tea leaves completely cover it on all sides. Leave for a few minutes.

Step 4

Carefully drain the tea leaves and dry the future map with a hair dryer.

Step 5

When the map has dried up, draw the necessary objects on the map, tips with pencils and felt-tip pens.

Step 6

When you are done drawing the map, you can complicate the future one by dividing the map into several parts or leave it as is by folding the pirate treasure map with a ribbon.
