How it works?
1. You have until October 3rd to get the MineCon 2016 skinpack for free, so hurry up! Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and go to the store to make your purchase (which is 100% free). You can now access new capes by changing your skin.
If you don't want to use the Alex or Steve skins (those are the default skins) to wear the cape, then you'll have to use the texture pack linked below. Read more about this in this guide.
2. Install the downloaded texture pack. Here .
3. You will need any file manager to replace one of the files included in the texture pack. Here are some that I recommend:
- Android: ES File Explorer
- Windows 10: 7-Zip
- iOS: IExplorer (I personally have never used IExplorer since I'm an Android user, but I hear it's good)
4. Find your own skin PNG file. If you have not chosen a skin yet, then go ahead to the section with
5. Using a file manager (ES File Explorer, 7-Zip or IExplorer) find the steve.png file here: /games/com.mojang/resource_packs/Custom Skin for Capes/images/mob/
6. Replace skin steve.png with your skin. For example, you can delete the steve.png file, add your skin, and then rename it to steve.png.
7. Open Minecraft Pocket Edition and select your skin, but with a cape. Cool, isn't it?

Hello, dear friend. As you know, in the new update 0.15.9, the developers have added raincoats to the game that will be in the public domain until November 3rd. This is not very happy, but it is also a little disappointing that the cape cannot be put on your own skin.
Of course, there is a solution to this problem, but it also has its drawbacks. Let's look at the options first:
Option 1: buying raincoats.
The easiest solution to the problem. It is unlikely that the developers will leave capes only for Alex and Steve. Perhaps by the beginning or middle of November they will release new version 16th update, where it will be possible to put on a cloak on your skin.
But the downside is that on Android OS they cost money, and on iOS and Win10 they are free until November 3rd. So it's your decision whether to spend 55 rubles on raincoats, when you could buy a doshirak with that money.
Option 2: Replace textures.
Now let's look at option 2. It is also not that complicated, but option 1 was easier because you did not have to rummage through the files.
What we need for this:
- Any explorer that supports .zip files (I personally prefer ES explorer).
- The file of your skin.
- Texture Custom Skin For Capes (will be at the end of the guide).
Unpack the .zip texture file in any path.
- Delete the file "steve.png" in the texture folder.
- Take your skin, paste it in place of Steve's texture and rename it to "steve.png".
- Move the folder along the path: "sdcard/games/com.mojang/resource_packs" (if it doesn't exist, create it).
